Ah, the wonderful world of Flash Fiction. What is my opinion on it?
Truth be told, I LOVE it. I believe that it's a wonderful tool for creativity and for me, majorly helps with writer's block. I started doing a year - long event called 'Flash 52' with the amazing Kharisma Rhayne. Basically what it entails is you write a 200 word blurb about an image that is given to you. I have to admit I am terrible with keeping my word counts to where they should be, but looking back on the last two pieces that I had written, I really liked them.
Flash fiction forces you to look at an image, and then write about the first thing that comes into your mind. I've seen authors write flash pieces using characters from some of their previous works and I think that can work quite well, especially if they're writing a series. So if you're struggling to get through writing your book and need to get creativity flowing again...

Exactly! Those are the same reasons I love flash fiction. I definitely love using it to learn more about my characters.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I love Flash Fiction. Gets a lot of flak, but when done well it can be amazingly affecting.
